Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Athens has the pleasure to invite you to the international experts’ conference “Gender in the Crisis – the impact and the way forward in Europe”, to be held in Athens on 5 & 6 April 2013.

The need to address this issue has arisen from the visible social, political and economic consequences of the crisis in Europe and beyond, which seem to bear a heavy toll on groups and individuals already discriminated upon. Under the pressure of the economic and fiscal downfall, gender issues are being pushed to the periphery of European political priorities, with an obvious risk of exclusion from a future agenda that will attempt to give answers and solutions to the current shortcomings.

Our aim is to provide a platform where international experts will meet and discuss the ways to keep or bring back gender in the European and national political agenda, as well as to examine the necessity of adapting the policies, strategies and proposals to the new era.
